Madurai Kamaraj University Distance Learning BEd Admission

The Govt. of Tamil Nadu has recognized Madurai Kamaraj Universtiy in the year 1966. It is funded and recognized by the UGC (University Grants Commission) and it is the member of the Association of Indian Universities. It is reaccredited with grade A by the NAAC. Recently Madurai Kamaraj University was given status of the "University with Potential for Excellence". It is a status given by UGC (University Grants Commission) to only nine Universities so far in India. In the year 1971, the University had started the Institute of Correspondence Course and Continuing Education. In the year 1996, it was given a new name of DDE (Directorate of Distance Education). The Directorate of Distance Education is also recognized by Distance Education Council (DEC), New Delhi as well. 

The Directorate of Distance Education has student strength of around 1.20 lacks. This University offers Bachelors in Education (B. Ed.) course through distance learning. This B. Ed course is two years program via Distance Education. There is not any entrance exam for this B.Ed course.

Eligibility

• In-service teacher, having 2 years experience of full-time teaching in the Nursery, Primary, Higher Secondary, Secondary, CBSE, or Matriculation Schools in the Tamil Nadu accepted by Central or State Government.

• Under Graduate Degree within one from following subjects: Tamil, Physics, Mathematics, Bio- Chemistry, Zoology, Electronics, Chemistry, Information Technology, Botany, etc.

Application Procedure

Cost of Application Form and Prospectus is Rs.500 if received personally or Rs.550 if received by post. The amount need be paid through Demand Draft favoring 'The Director, DDE MKU ' to be paid at Madurai. Dully filled in Application need to be sent at The Director ,Directorate of Distance Education, Madurai Kamaraj University , Palkalai Nagar, Madurai - 625 021. The envelope need to have "Application Form for B.Ed. Course" written on it. Applicant’s name and address need to be mentioned on backside of Demand Draft.
