Himachal Pradesh University was established in 1971 and located at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. The university has urban campus. The university was established in 22 July 1970 by the act of the himachal Pradesh legislative assembly. The university has affiliations by University grant commission and graded B by National assessment and accreditation council. Himachal Pradesh University wholly financed by government of himachal. They play pioneering role for launching the distance education programme and also start post-graduation level distance education.
 

Eligibility for Distance education for Bed admission:

Candidate who complete graduation in zoology, chemistry, botany, BSc honors in zoology, physics, mathematics, are eligible for admission. BA pass course in mathematics, sociology, public administration, geography, political science, economics, history, Sanskrit and Bcom student are eligible for Bed admission and that candidate have minimum 45 per cent marks and for ST, SC candidate 40 per cent marks students are eligible.

Admission Procedure:

Candidate get admission form on their official website fill the applicationform in his or her own handwriting along with the documents and submit before due date. Candidate requires submitting the following document latest passport size photo duly attested by a gazette officer, attested copy of 12th examination certificate, attested 3 copies of graduation certificate, For ST,SC and physically handicapped student submit copy of requisite certification issued by competent authenticating claim.

General Information:

The university also starts International centers for distance education and open learning. The university has eighty affiliated under graduate, education, Sanskrit, dental, medical, engineering and post-graduate colleges and university has twenty seven teaching departments which offer various courses. The university campus was located at summer hill town it about five kilo meter. The campus covers about 200 acres of area. They provide facility like hostels, residential complexes, offices, library and teaching department.

The Himachal Pradesh University had taken the courageous step in beginning and the Courses from Directorate of Correspondence were set after founding of the University in the year 1971. The University has also emerged as the revolutionary institution for launching programs of the distance education at postgraduate level. In India, Himachal Pradesh University was first University for starting the Master of Arts at different disciplines with Master of Commerce and Master of Education. As the time goes, its Directorate of Correspondence Courses steadily absorbed rising philosophy for distance education and accepted multi-media approach of imparting instruction. Considering it, Directorate of Correspondence Course is rechristened as (International Centre for Distance Educational and Open Learning). It is situated in the University Campus at Summer Hill. It has its individual independent complex containing two buildings of five stories each.

Duration of the B. Ed course is two years for the Distance Education Mode. There will be the annual examination in April and the supplementary examination in September on dates, notified by Controller of Examinations.

Admission to different courses for study except MD, MS, MBBS, and Diploma courses, DCA, MCA, Medical Science and will be open for all the persons, irrespective to race, caste, calls, or creed subject to following conditions:

• 15% and 7.5% of seats will be reserved for the S.C. and S.T. applicants respectively who had passed the qualifying test from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Himachal Pradesh University, or H.P. Krishi Vishwavidyalaya.

• The outstanding 77.5% seats will be filled under:

25% of seats for admission will be open to all candidates irrespective to institution through where they had passed the qualifying exam.

75% of seats will be filled for candidates who had passed the qualifying exam from Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, H.P. Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, or Himachal Pradesh University to the reservations.

The Himachal Pradesh University came into existence in the year July 1970. The university is located between several mountains in Summer Hills in north-west of Shimla.  It is the leading university which offers u affiliating cum residential conditions in India. The university wants to educate all the people who live in the area of Himachal Himalayas. The mission of this university is to conduct courses which consist of long term and short term and diploma courses in Ph. D in inter disciplinary fields.  The total acre of this university is approximately 100 acres and it is divided into main small buildings.

Eligibility for Bachelor’s of Education:

The students who are interested to join Bachelor of Education must undergo the following rules to take the admission in Bachelor of Education.

Students must pass the desired pattern (10+2+3 or 11+1+3). They must have a passing certificate of 10th or 12th standard from any recognized board or form CBSE board. They must have at least 1 main subject in their 3rd year like Physics, Mathematics, B.A, English, History Geography, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biochemistry and etc. the student must score more than 50% marks in an entrance exam if the candidate is a P.G holder.

Admission Procedure for Bachelor’s of Education: 

The admission will be conducted by the help of merit list. This merit list is determined by the marks obtained in graduation or post graduation level with an experience of at least two years. The forms will be given by the university and each candidate must fill the form and give it back to the institute within 15 days and after then the merit list will be declared. The candidate must attach their examination result.
