Maharshi Dayanand University was recognized as the Rohtak University. It came into existence via Act No. 25 from 1975 of Haryana Legislative Assembly, during the year of 1976 with an aim to encourage inter-disciplinary high education as well as research, in the grounds of ecological, environmental, and life sciences. It was renamed as the Maharshi Dayanand University during the year 1977, after name of great activist as well as social reformer, named Maharshi Dayanand.
The UGC (University Grants Commission), which is the higher education authoritarian body in India, has recognized this University under the Section 2(f) for acknowledgment of degrees as well as under the Section 12(b) of UGC Act to central grants at February 23, 1983.
The University is situated at Rohtak, which is in Haryana State. It is well linked by road as well as by rail. Rohtak is education hub for state with plenty facilities for the education in all the knowledge fields.
The applicant needs to have B.A. or M.A. degree with minimum 50% marks. Only full time and regular in-service teachers, working in schools, situated within jurisdiction of State of Haryana with minimum two years of continuous teaching experience. The course is having 2 years duration.
Information Brochure for the B.Ed. through Distance Education including Application Form may be obtained through in charge (Publication), at M.D. University, of Rohtak by paying Rs.800/- through counter in cash or by demand draft of Rs. 850. For SC/BC candidates of State of Haryana, the fee is Rs.200/- through counter or by demand draft of Rs. 250. The demand draft should be favoring to the Finance Officer, M.D. University, Rohtak, to be paid at the State Bank of India, at M.D. University, at Rohtak Branch.
