SNDT also known as Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University. In 1896 the university is established and situated at Mumbai, Maharashtra, Mumbai. It’s a public university. Churchgate is a main headquarter of SNDT University. The university has total four campuses in Mumbai region, palghar, santacruz juhu, churchgate and pune. The university opens several SNDT colleges in some of the state like Maharashtra, Assam, Gujarat and Goa. They also offers 1 year Bed course. The university has 26 colleges, 38 university and 11 faculties, they also start secondary school for girls. The university gets 5 star ratings by NAAC.

Eligibility for BEd Admission:

Candidate must complete graduation from recognized university in 11+1+3 or 10+2+3 pattern and those candidates has 12th and 10th standard passing certificate from recognized university or CBSE board. At graduation level the candidate has one major subject like applied Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geography, Environmental science, English, History, Physics, and Mathematics etc.

Admission Procedure:

The university commonly conducts entrance examination for the admission to Bed course, for eligibility that candidate must get minimum 50 % marks. Candidate get application form on university office counter after paying nominal fees and submit the form before due date. The university commonly announces the result within the fifteen days.

SNDT University starts the Distance education in 1979 and the main objective of university is offering need based academic programs, provide higher education to woman, empowerment of women through distance education. The distance education offers courses in MA, Bcom, BA, and BCA in following subject English, education, music, political science, sociology, History, economics, Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati. They also provide post graduate diploma in human resource management and post graduate diploma in school counseling
